Photographic & Image Collections
The Maine State Archives holds many different collections of images. Some of these collections were gifted to the Archives, like the Monson glass plate negatives and the vintage postcard collection, and some are the official work of the state, like the BMV's license plate ads from the 1950s. Of note are the Civil War cartes de vistite portraits and the photography of George French.
